Dr. Kimberly M. Calhoun,
Psy.D., LCPC, CRC

Dr. Kimberly M. Calhoun, Psy.D., LCPC, CRC

Dr. Kimberly Calhoun received her Master of Science and Certified Rehabilitatve Counseling Degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She attended the Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she recieved her Master of Arts and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Calhoun served as the Cheif Executive Officer at the Institute for Personal Development from 2004-2010, where she also served as Director of Clinical Services.

Dr. Calhoun has extensive experience with both children and adults with Developmental impairments. From 2000- 2004, she served as the Director of Clinical Services at Little City Foundation, which is located in Palatine, IL. While serving at Little City, Dr. Calhoun was coordinated resdiential placement and assisted living options for individuals who were unable to reside independently in the community.

Prior to this, she served as the Administrative & Clinical Supervisor of the Specialized Foster Care Program at Youth Service Bureau for children with intense medical and/or psychiatric needs.

Amy L. Davis, LCSW

Amy L. Davis has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2005.  She received her B.S.W. from The University of St. Francis in 1999 and her M.S.W. from Aurora University in 2001.  For ten years, Amy was a School Social Worker in the Streator area.

She joined Calhoun Consultants, LLC in November of 2010. 

She is currently accepting new patients who are seeking solution focused therapy for the following issues:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Coping and Stress Reduction
  • Anger
  • Parenting Education

She has experience providing services to individuals, couples, and families of all ages for these and a variety of other mental health issues. Amy is looking forward to meeting the unique needs of each of her clients and assisting them in reaching their individualized treatment goals.

 

Brie Von Ruden, LCPC

Brie Von Ruden received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2006. In 2007, she finished her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. She then received her Masters of Arts in Community Counseling degree in 2011.

She joined Calhoun Consultants, LLC in 2010. 

While attending SIU, she pursued research in Neuropsychology for three years for the Psychology Department. While perusing research, she was in charge of a study funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. She started her counseling in 2005. Since then, she has been a counselor on a psychiatric unit at a hospital. While working at the hospital, she has helped make program changes to help patients further increase their benefits of a hospital stay. She has experience in emergency room crisis counseling.

She currently works with those with mood disorders, personality disorders, developmental disabilities, children, adolescents, families, adults, youth and adults of the LGBTQ population, and couples. She has experience in conducting mood disorder groups, groups with children, groups with adolescents, and substance abuse groups. Brie integrates all elements of a client’s life into counseling by being involved with schools, places of employment, family education, and resource linking when needed. She keeps convenient office hours that work with a client's schedule.

 

Elizabeth Trost, LCSW, MESL

Elizabeth Trost has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2000. She received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 1987 from the University of Illinois and her MSW in 1997 from the University of Illinois - Urbana. She obtained a Master of Education in School Leadership in 2010 from Olivet Nazarene University – Bourbonnais, Illinois.

Elizabeth retired from education after serving twenty years as a school social worker/counselor. Additionally, she has 15 years of experience working with clients and their families suffering with substance abuse and addiction. 

Elizabeth takes a holistic approach to serving her patients which includes incorporating faith-based therapy, as desired, into what she does.

Elizabeth is dedicated to helping those who seek to resolve a variety of complicated life issues, including anxiety, trauma, coping skills, adolescent and women’s issues, and separation or divorce.

Elizabeth joined Calhoun Consultants, L.L.C. in August 2013. A veteran therapist, Elizabeth is currently accepting clients seeking resolve in challenges of daily living and a variety of mental health issues.

 

Kellie Phelps, MSN, FNP-BC

Kellie honorably served our country in the United States Air Force for seven years. After her discharge from the United States Air Force, Kellie went to school for nursing at Illinois Valley Community College. At IVCC, Kellie earned her certificate as a LPN and then a year later earned her associates degree in nursing at IVCC and became an RN. She then went to school at Kaplan University and earned her bachelors degree in nursing. Kellie then earned her masters degree at Chamberlain University in nursing with a concentration as a family nursing practitioner (FNP) in 2017.

She is currently going to school at University of St. Francis for a certificate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP); she will complete this certificate in December 2019. She is also in a fellowship at Rush University in order to learn how to properly treat patients for opioid addictions

Kellie has nursing experience caring for patients in home health care, long-term care settings, and in the correctional setting. She also has experience as a FNP in the urgent care setting. We are excited to be able to offer our patients a health care provider with the ability to provide care for many health and psychiatric concerns across the lifespan!

 

Janey Burke, MSW

Janey received her Bachelor's of Science in Education and Human Services at Southern Illinois University, majoring in Social Work and minoring in Rehabilitation Services. Janey completed an internship with Family Community Service Workers, who provided services for low income families. Janey then began working as a home visitor who provided services for low income families.

Janey acquired her Master’s Degree of Social Work at Aurora University while interning at Calhoun Consultants, LLC. Once finishing her MSW she remained at Calhoun Consultants, LLC full time.

Janey provides counseling for a variety of populations that include children, adults, and elderly individuals who would like assistance in creating a better quality of life. Janey provides services to individuals with mental health issues, couples, and families. Janey works closely with Dr. Calhoun to provide the best services for her clients. Janey is always excited to meet new clients and help them meet their individual treatment goals. Janey is flexible with scheduling new and existing patients and has openings are immediately available.
